When the presence is not set to open automatically, the stored shots will still be available when the app is opened.Whenever I start running any Android emulator on GenyMotion (2.3 and 2.4) with VirtualBox, my Macbook pro crashes.I am using (Yosemite 10.10.2. I realize that this doesn't address with why your D200 is recognized, but I'm just thinking out loud here.

There is a preference in iPhoto and Aperture.

I'm just wondering is you set your photo software preference to open when the camera is connected. My immediate thought is if it is possibly that something similar has to be present on a MAC? Could be coupled to some media controllers in MAC.

Now to "see" and use the camera in the new Windows - you need those special drivers for MTP. Instead Windows uses PTP - but a special edition of PTP - they call it Media Tranfer Protocol - and is an extension to the PTP. You are right about the mass-storage - cameras are no longer seen as that. I've seen this problem pop up with Windows - and I have no aknowledge on MAC.īut the reason Windows (7 and 8) gives troubles is: What am I missing, or is this a hardware malfunction? I've read many blogs and forums, but haven't seen a suitable answer.

I know the D90 doesn't have the mass storage option, but it used to work tethered via USB as PTP. They all recognize the D200 without a problem. I've run all updates, the camera firmware is current, but NOTHING recognizes the camera. I can use a card reader, that works, and is a solution, but sometimes it is more convenient to use the USB out of camera. Even IMAGE CAPTURE will not bring up the D90. Now, none of the MACs I have (mini, Macbook Pro, IMAC) will see the D90.

I used to be able to transfer pics from my D90 via the USB connection to Light Room, Picassa, Nikon Transfer, etc.
